This series of recordings are part of a larger work commissioned for a production of Sophocles' play 'Antigone', staged at Birmingham Repertory Theatre in 2007.
The works have been edited and remastered in order to provide a cohesive musical progression throughout, rather than sticking to the narrative of the text, whilst hopefully retaining the original themes of the subject matter.
I did not set out to re-assemble Sophocles' masterpiece to my own ends, but that's what happened. No doubt he'd have a word for me - etymologically Oedipal perhaps.
Thank you for your interest in this music, and please feel free to distribute it far and wide.

I listened to a lot of Steve Lawson's music before buying any. So easy to play in the background while browsing on the iPad. So many moods and good to hear it coming as played live. He gets a lot from a bass and its in HD flac. It was time to catch up on buying... Alan Hall
